I never, ever win anything! I buy raffle tickets galore, always hoping to win and guess what - I WON!!! And I didn't even buy a raffle ticket!
Flamingo Toes blog does a monthly follower giveaway, just for being followers! Her blog, which is amazing, is one I have been following now, and I love her creative ideas. Her pillows, necklaces, letters -- she's just so creative!
As you all know, last week was a long one, what with hubby's need to change his diet. We've both been a little on edge - I am nagging because I'm reading every label and telling him what he can and can't eat, and he's snippy because he has to change so much of what he eats (even the stuff we thought was healthy). So, I was so excited yesterday to receive a comment on my blog from Flamingo Toes saying I'd won for her monthly follower contest!!!!
I got to choose from two items (which you can see here). An apron or a pillow. It was a tough decision! I literally spent like an hour thinking about it! I finally decided on the apron, because I can wear it to cook, which I'll be doing a lot more of now. ;) So thank you, Flamingo Toes - you have totally made my month!
And number two fantastic thing about this weekend? Finding the $54.99 high heel Candies shoes at Kohls that you've been eyeing for a month...in the clearance aisle...on tax free week...while holding a 15% off coupon...and your husband says, "Buy the shoes babe, they'll look great on you." I swear, I thought I was dreaming. Aren't they be-you-tee-full???
Maggie hosting a clothing swap party! I felt bad that I showed up late, because I didn't want to ruin their party, but I was glad I went because I got some cute stuff. For free! And got rid of some of my old cute stuff. Thanks Maggie!
The sad thing about this weekend? My best friend Patty has been in town for two weeks visiting...and had to go home on Sunday :( (You can read my post about this awesome lady here). I'm so sad! I miss her a ton already. We've been friends for 26 years. She knows everything about me. She's the first person I turn to for anything. And I don't like being so far apart. But, like Tim McGraw says, "We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere." And we both know we'll always be best friends ;)
So that's my weekend wrap-up. I did a few crafts that I'll be posting this week. Have a nice week, everyone!
